Adel Bentounsi




Bentounsi was born in Annaba (Algeria) and lives in Paris. 


Solo shows include Chuchotement at the French institute of Annaba (2019).

In 2016 he participated in The Cannes Film Festival with the film Kindil. He has exhibited extensively at international biennials such as Le OFF the 13th edition of The Dakar Biennale (2018); The 1st edition of The Biennale of Contemporary Art Beirut (2017); The Dakar Biennale (2016): The Dakar Biennale (2014); The Biennial of Mediterranean Contemporary Art, Oran (2012).


In 2018 Bentounsi was artist in residence at Le Relais festival in Tangier, other residencies include l’espace FADA in association with the Ateliers Sauvages d’Alger in Amman (2015); l’Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts ESA part of the Dunkirk festival Regional Capital of Contemporary Art (2013); FRUCTOSE, Dunkirk (2012); In 2018 he produced a special commission sculpture L’Echelle for The French Institute in Annaba. He was awarded the Société Générale Painting Prize in Algeria (2013).
